April 25th, 2018, Edition launched its 2018 Fall/Winter 「Future Opera」collection in Song Art Museum, presenting an oriental simulacrum of the future.
Pine trees and contemporary minimalist architecture formed an interesting juxtaposition. The show venue constructs itself through the frame of “Song” (Pine Tree), echoing its symbolism for timeless in Edition’s design philosophy as if time-traveling into an oriental theater in the future. Everything happens most naturally.
“Prudence and modesty. Simple yet undull” is the essence of Chinese cultural philosophy. Rooted in the art and philosophy of the east, Edition emerges from the contemporary with a mission to keep it simple and return to the clothing itself, presenting a collection of 90s utilitarianism with a futuristic twist in the most direct way.
High-saturated red, bright blue neo pink and patent led the audience into the futuristic heterotopia; Experimental details embellishing the collar and the back inspired by the 90s ingeniously updates gentlewoman’s key items, such as menswear suits, shirts and trench coast. The finishing touch is the oriental jacquard prints on velvet and satin for an endnote of nostalgia.
